The Dance Students

4Movimento is a renowned dance school located in the picturesque town of Sarzana, a place where many professional dancers took their first steps, beginning a journey that led them to achieve remarkable goals. Today, these talents are a great source of pride for the school’s teachers, who devote their time and passion to training the new generations.

On this page, you will have the opportunity to get to know them better and to celebrate their achievements together with the school’s staff. We invite you to browse the gallery to discover the distinguished students who have made the 4Movimento dance school famous—and to be inspired by their extraordinary stories and performances!

Rachele Buriassi

Born in Sarzana, she began studying dance at the age of four at the 4°Movimento Dance School. In 2000, she started studying at the École Supérieure de Danse de Rosella Hightower, thanks to a scholarship she won through an audition. In 2002, she continued her studies at the John Cranko Schule in Stuttgart, where she graduated in 2006. Rachele took part in numerous competitions: in 2005, she won second prize at Tanzolymp in Berlin, and in 2006, the special “Wish Will” prize at the Vaganova Grand Prix in Russia.

In the 2006/2007 season, she joined the corps de ballet of the Stuttgart Ballet. In the 2010/2011 season, she was promoted to demi-soloist and became a soloist in the 2012/2013 season.

In March 2009, Rachele Buriassi and William Moore received an invitation to the prestigious Erik Bruhn Prize in Canada, where they performed La Grande Parade du Funk, choreographed by Bridget Breiner for the occasion, and the pas de deux from Act III of Swan Lake (John Cranko).

Born in Sarzana, she began her classical and modern dance training at the 4° Movimento Dance School in Sarzana with Lucia Boschi, Giuseppe Gilardi, and Alice Maruelli. Her encounter with Franko Schmidt, dancer with the Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch, led her to the Folkwang Universität der Künste, where she continues her studies to this day.

There, she deepens her study of classical technique and becomes familiar with the Jooss-Leeder technique under the guidance of Malou Airaudo, Lutz Förster, and Stephan Brinkmann. Since 2017, she has taken part as a dancer in various projects within the Tanzabend, Exercitium, and Junge Choreographen programmes.
